Julia's story

Hi Hair Friends! 

Here’s my story! I was born and raised in Alaska. I attended UAA and received a degree in Marketing, while working for Wells Fargo and Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA). In 2012, I decided to sell my condo, escape the corporate life, and move to Seattle to fulfill my life-long dream of doing hair professionally. 

In 2013, I graduated from the fashion-forward Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy, ready to conquer the hair world!

I spent my first year as a Hair Stylist at Habitude Salon and Spa in Ballard.  Then, I worked at Wild Root Salon and Spa, an Aveda Hair Salon in Shoreline, for four years.  

In 2018, after six years of developing my clientele and mastering the Aveda hair color line, I decided to lease a salon space in Greenwood. A charming neighborhood filled with wonderful people.  Here, I feel like I'm a part of a community that supports one another.

In 2022, I purchased the condo unit my salon is in.  It's now the "forever home" for Emerald City Hair Studio.
